Whizz! A car descending a hill

*

Whizz! A car descending a hill, oil on card, 12.5 / 13.8 cm - available

Painted from near where Saturday's painting was made.

A dull, hopeless sort of day.

Landscape near Caieira; car

Landscape near Caieira, oil on card, 9.9 x 11.7 cm - discarded

I've been driving around. There are so many amazing things to see and paint that I am tempted to stop the car alostr every hundred yards. I wonder, if ever, the novelty will wear off.

I want to visit the mountains more, of course, but also those strange, half-resolved tiny settlements which are such a feature of this country. I rather like them.

I also want to do some work on the strip mall developments that scar the areas along the sides of the highways, and constrast so harshly with the amazing mountains beyond them.

All this brings me back to the idea of doing a Santa Catarina road trip, all the way up to Foz de Iguaçu., then back.

A wooded area; car

A wooded area, oil on card, 13 x 9.7 cm  - available

The first painting painted from my new car: this vehicle will radically change my life for the better, allowing me to paint when it is raining and more safely at night, as well as letting me explore Brazil much more easily.

Going to the Sea

You feel fed up, you drive to the sea

The waves come in, the waves go out: you watch them listlessly from the window of your Fiat Uno.

Nothing has changed: you drive home.
