This was the first of a set of monotypes inspired by Morris Louis, the American Abstract Expressionist. There are four. They use this image as a base: it appears as a shadow in the subsequent three monotypes.

This was an attempt to make simple, overtly cheerful, work: my work is generally instrospective and somewhat sombre.
